Best Highways Decarbonisation Award Entry Criteria

This award will recognise the achievements across the highways industry that clearly demonstrate the carbon benefits and how they support the sector achieve zero carbon in local and national highways.  This award will recognise achievements across the entire highways sector, including road surfacing, lighting and other highways assets. 

Entry criteria:

• Name, role and organisation of nominee 

• Title of the project 

• Summary of the project including pre and post data and carbon impacts 

• Testimonials and references 

• Short description of the carbon benefits and any supporting data 

The judges will be looking for the following: 

​​

• Real world applications of highways decarbonisation initiatives that have made a positive impact 

• Innovations that can be applied in different locations across the UK 

• The judges are also looking for evidence of the carbon impacts, with any pre and post project appraisal data that demonstrate carbon savings 

• Additionally, judges will be looking for applications which not only support carbon reduction, but which also provide better safety and cost saving initiatives
