Landor LINKS' Drive to Decarbonise
Our carbon commitment:
The Decarbonising Transport Awards celebrate efforts to reduce carbon across the transport sector — so it’s only right that we hold ourselves to the same standards.
This event is organised by Landor LINKS, a Carbon Literate accredited organisation, committed to making all its activities as sustainable as possible. We believe in action, not just recognition — and that includes how we plan, deliver, and measure the environmental impact of our events.
What we're doing:
Landor LINKS are taking the following steps to reduce the carbon footprint of the Decarbonising Transport Awards:
Venue selection
We're working with a venue that has strong sustainability credentials and is accessible by public and active transport.
Low-impact catering
Our catering will offer plant-based menus, source ingredients locally where possible, and avoid single-use plastics.
Lanyards & badges
We use reusable bamboo lanyards and recyclable name badges.
Recycling
Clear recycling systems will be in place throughout the venue.
Travel & transport
We promote rail and shared travel options for attendees and exhibitors.
Paper & printing
We're minimising printed materials — no paper programmes or flyers, and no lamination. Any necessary print is on sustainable paper using vegetable-based inks.
Local suppliers
We aim to work with suppliers based close to the event venue to minimise transport emissions.
Digital-first communications
All entries, judging, and announcements are conducted digitally, reducing the need for print or post.
We welcome partners and attendees to share ideas or suggestions for other initiatives we can bring forward.
Looking ahead
We see the Decarbonising Transport Awards not only as a celebration of what’s being done across the industry, but as a call to action. By making our own events part of the solution, we hope to lead by example and support others in doing the same.
Why it matters
Event activity — from travel to waste to energy use — can create significant carbon emissions. That’s why we're embedding carbon literacy and low-carbon thinking into everything we do.
Landor LINKS’ status as a Carbon Literate Organisation (Bronze accredited) reflects a company-wide commitment to carbon awareness, climate communication, and behaviour change — in our publishing, our partnerships, and our events.
